About prof. dr Svetislav Milenković
He was born in Belgrade in 1948, where he graduated from elementary school, gymnasium and medical school in 1973. After a compulsory medical internship, he worked for one year in Kragujevac, and later served his military service. He then took a job at the Clinic for Eye Diseases of the Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade in 1976. He completed his specialist exam (1980), his master's degree (1982) and his doctorate (1985) at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade. He was selected as an assistant professor in the field of Ophthalmology (1976) and is now a full professor (2001).

He completed his specialist exam (1980), his master's degree (1982) and his doctorate (1985) at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade. He was selected as an assistant professor in the field of Ophthalmology (1976) and is now a full professor (2001).
He has published about 150 professional and scientific papers. He has been a mentor in several master's and doctoral theses (about 30).
He has studied more than once in the UK and was elected an Associate Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (1987). He has visited Germany, USA, Italy, Czech Republic, Finland, Malta, Hungary, France, Bulgaria, Turkey for professional development.
He has been selected as Visiting Professor at the Timisoara School of Medicine (Romania).
He is head of the Department of Vascular Diseases and Diabetes, which is his field of interest. (laser photocoagulation, fluoroscein angiography, OCT).
His wife is a doctor, also an ophthalmologist, one daughter studying economics and another at the Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in painting.
